Cannabidiol: What are the effects of CBD?

Cannabidiol has gradually become more popular in recent years thanks to its well-being improvement properties. But what are the effects of cannabidiol really? This is what we will see in this article.

The different effects of cannabidiol

First of all, it is important to clarify that the state of research on cannabidiol is still in its infancy, the scientific community does not yet have a definitive opinion to give on the subject. although some studies seem to point to encouraging results for CBD. We will therefore rely on some of these studies in this article but keep in mind that a single study is not enough to conclude on the effects of CBD.

For a credible source of information the critical WHO report is a good start, so we will rely only on the studies cited in this report.

No cannabidiol treatment is recognized by the scientific community at this time.

No side effects or addiction

One of the interesting properties of cannabidiol is the absence of heavy side effects and addiction. This is also one of the points raised by the WHO to justify the use of cannabis cannabidiol to replace heavy treatments.

Note all the same that there are unpleasant side effects if cannabidiol is consumed in large quantities, we can mention: diarrhea, drowsiness and appetite suppressant. But these side effects have only been noted in the case of treatments based on pure CBD in high doses, this should not concern you with a consumption of CBD for the purpose of well-being.

Effect 1: Fight against epileptic seizures

This is the best known effect of CBD, its effectiveness in reducing the intensity and frequency of epileptic seizures. For once, there are many studies on the subject and an approved treatment should soon see the light of day. It is clearly the effect of cannabidiol on which there is the greatest scientific consensus.

Effect 2: Fight against pain

Cannabidiol also offers interesting properties for the fight against pain. Indeed, when you consume cannabidiol you will benefit from its anti-inflammatory properties as well as its ability to control the release of neuro-transmitters in your brain.

Cannabidiol therefore seems useful for fighting pain and is also being studied to help patients undergoing chemotherapy to better tolerate their treatment.

Effect 3: Effective against stress

Cannabidiol thanks to its ability to balance the flow of neuro-transmitters has a soothing effect when consumed. This makes it particularly effective in the fight against stress. Again there are several studies on the subject but still not enough to draw solid conclusions. Many consumers use it anyway for this purpose.

Effect 4: Helping you fall asleep

This effect is very similar to the previous one, the fight against stress. The supposed anti-stress properties of CBD seem to help you fall asleep more easily. It seems logical, being less stressed you will be in better conditions to fall asleep.

Effect 5: CBD could help fight addiction

In any case, this is what several studies seem to put forward. The use of CBD seems to be a very good substitute for certain addictions such as alcohol, THC or even opiates. Many former THC smokers are making the transition to CBD. Here again CBD seems interesting thanks to the absence of addiction or unpleasant side effects.

Difference between CBD and THC

Finally, some people still find it difficult to tell the difference between classic cannabis and cannabidiol-based cannabis, so we will see the main differences here.

THC cannabis is actually the most famous cannabis, the one that will get you high. It is THC that is responsible for the psychotropic effects of cannabis. If your cannabis does not contain THC then it will not be considered a narcotic. CBD on the other hand does not offer psychotropic effects but still has interesting properties as we have just seen.

Consuming CBD cannabis therefore allows you to enjoy the effects of cannabis without the disadvantages!

Conclusion

Cannabidiol therefore seems to have well-being effects that could be useful and have the advantage of not causing too bothersome side effects. It is for this reason that it is increasingly studied by the scientific community.

Unfortunately research takes time and the complicated legislation around cannabis has caused a lot of delay. However, we should see more clearly in the next few years.

This does not prevent consumers from using CBD to relax, sleep better, or wean off THC.
