How to Make Cannabis Butter?

Here we will see how to turn your cbd flowers into delicious cannabis butter that will allow you to incorporate cannabidiol into your best butter recipes.

Marrakech Butter Dose

First we will discuss the recommended dosages for making your cannabis butter. These are indicative and you will have to test your butter with small quantities in order to fine-tune the doses in order to get the desired effect.

As a general rule, it is recommended to practice a ratio of 1 gram of flower for 2 grams of butter.

Cannabis Decarboxylation

The decarboxylation phase allows the cannabinoids to be bio-available, that is to say in their most assimilable form by the human body, which will increase the effects of your butter.

To carry out this step, simply put your flowers in the oven at a temperature of 100° for 40 minutes.

If you plan to incorporate your cannabis butter into a recipe that includes cooking above 100° for at least forty minutes, this step will therefore not be necessary since it is carried out during the cooking recipe.

Cannabis Rinse

This step consists of cleaning your cannabis of chlorophyll which may give an unpleasant taste to your Marrakesh butter.

To do this we will immerse our flowers, coarsely chopped, in boiling water for about ten minutes before draining them with a colander or a clean cloth.

This will have the effect of ridding them of their chlorophyll without losing the precious cannabinoids that do not mix with water.

Cooking the Cannabis Butter Mix

Then simply immerse your cleaned flowers in a clean saucepan, cover them with clear water and then add your butter to start the migration phase of the cannabinoids to the fat.

This step is slow so you will have to let the mixture simmer over medium heat for about 3 hours to benefit from the maximum effect with your Marrakesh butter.

It is advisable to carry out this step with the pan covered to limit evaporation and prevent the butter from burning in the absence of water.

You can also use a thermometer to check the temperature of the cooking water, which must be above 60° to allow the migration of cannabinoids.

Cannabis and Butter Separation

The next step is to separate the water and the cannabinoid-laden butter from the cannabis flowers.

For this we will use a clean cloth that will allow us to filter the water and the butter without letting the remains of vegetable matter through.

The linen containing the flowers must then be pressed in order to extract as much fat as possible loaded with active ingredients. Beware of burns during this step if you use your hands.

Hardening of Marrakech Butter

For the rest, all we have to do is put the mixture of water and butter in the fridge for 24 hours so that the butter solidifies and rises to the surface. You can then easily recover it using a skimmer for example.

How To Consume Cannabis Butter?

You can now enjoy your butter raw (if you have decarboxylated your flowers) or incorporate it into any recipe containing butter.

Be careful, however, to avoid recipes with cooking above 160°, which would have the effect of degrading the cannabinoids contained in your space cake.
